Hi, I’m Ashley.
I come from a long line of stiff-upper lipped, hard-working British ancestors. I was born into fame – I was the first Ashley born at the 100 Mile House hospital. I grew up in a square, privileged, loving home, in a community that lifted me up. I dreamed of anonymity, and loved colour change in titrations, so I moved to Vancouver, and graduated from BCIT Chemical Sciences.
Determined never to work in a lab, I started outside as an environmental consultant, followed by working in a lab (never say never), before moving to government. I figured out early that working with people made me feel strong. I followed that feeling into supervision, process improvement, management, and now coaching. I wouldn’t change a thing about my path.
At 23 years and counting in the professional world, and after adding a UBC Organizational Coaching Certificate, I aim to help support women and gender-diverse professionals to navigate a career or business change or challenge – to find themselves again, gain some energy and agency back – but not in a woo-woo way (I do have square, responsible hands after all). I am a recovering people-pleaser, and a proud human giver, always trying to balance the YOLO mantra and the responsible thing to do.
When I’m not coaching, you can find this mother and iced latte snob at a coffee shop with my knitting and an audiobook, or on the treadmill out-sprinting her memories of being the slowest runner in P.E. class. Watch out – I always want to talk about work, outside of work. I see work as a means or excuse to make impact, meaning, and community.
